Sound Recording & Design

Eligibility: +2     Duration:1 Year

In the modern film making, the role of sound recordists and sound designers has become very important. Today’s multitrack, multilayered sound recording and reproduction is a formidable task. The syllabus will give the students an insider’s view to equipments and its technology in terms of electronics and the art and science of acoustics. Students will have many hours of practical sessions in sound recording and multitrack mixing. These hands-on assignments are intended to make the students capable of taking up independent job assignments.

Editing & Image Processing

The editing syllabus will take the students through the history, technical development and art of film editing. Masterly works from Pudovkin, Eisenstien to Walter Murch will be analyzed and studied in detail. Major editing softwares, post-production workflows and the responsibilities of the editor in the post digital-camera world will be covered in detail. This course gives you the best of the both skills - digital imaging technology and handling emotions and relationships within the story you narrate.

Digital Videography

Eligibility: +2     Duration: 1 Year

The Director of Photography is the visual translator of the script, enabling the director to narrate the story evocatively. Modern digital cameras have evolved into fine instruments of image creation. With a strong foundation of theory and in-depth practice in using available light and artificial lights, this course empowers the students to take up any cinematographic challenges to create a short film. Guest faculty would also be invited to discuss and present topics related to cinematography and allied subjects.
