About Revathy Kalamandir

In 1993, G.Sureshkumar started the production house Revathy Kalamndhir. 43 movies were produced under the banner of Revathy Kalamndhir. As a production house Revathy Kalamndhir had abiding faith in the average Malayali movie goer and was always in sync with the pulse of the film buff. Revathy Kalamndhir was built over three decades of painstaking and dedicated endeavor.

India is the largest film producer in the world, and our television industry is the 3rd largest in the world. We produce more than 1300 feature films every year, and the numbers of television channels have gone beyond 800. Total television viewership of 416 million is world’s highest. Entertainment Industry in India is one of the fastest growing industries. Industry experts project the scenario of an INR 10 Billion box office hit in the near future. Indian Entertainment Industry already employs 6 million people directly and indirectly. A 12.5% yearly growth rate is predicted for Indian Entertainment Industry.

At this juncture, there is a need for highly trained and motivated people to work in the Indian entertainment industry. The complexity of the technology and the subtleties of the cinematic art demands a methodical study of the crafts related to film making. Till recently the major film training schools were run by the government sector. In Kerala, there was a severe lack of an A-Class film school. Revathy Kalamandir Film Academy steps into this void and offers you the best infrastructure facilities and excellent faculty to make your dreams come true.

Mission & Vision

Revathy Kalamandir Film Academy is founded on the true belief in the principles of creative excellence and freedom. We value tradition as well as fresh ideas that propel the growth of the individual and the industry. A vibrant and creative audio-visual culture is based on multi-skilled, flexible, highly collaborative groups - and we want to train students to become such energetic and creative groups. Our programs are aimed at the new generation filmmaker with certain aims: empowering the students with professional ability in the key work areas and make them learn to collaborate creatively with fellow students as much as from teachers. We also encourage students to think about cinema practically and to inculcate the habit of questioning their presumptions rigorously and applying their instincts creatively. The students we want are lively, cooperative, imaginative people who learn through practicing and collaboration.
