Medical Check up
The School provides a full medical check-up every year. Students are examined for a range of problems by specially trained preventive medicine physicians and other specialists in the school. Vision test, Hearing test, Dental check- up, and other possible tests are conducted.
Smart Class
The smart classes are another advanced facility in the School. Lessons of all subjects are presented before the children of Stds I to XII by means of net work that connects these classes from a common knowledge Centre. Lessons and animated pictures accompanied by audio are projected in the Smart Class Rooms by means of Plasma TVs .This will keep our children well informed of the changing methods of education and will develop a competency rarely available elsewhere. Teaching and learning become exciting and easy in the smart classes.
Integrated Class Rooms
In collaboration with NIIT, the school provides smart classes to all students. Curriculum mapped soft lessons enriched with animations and visuals enable teaching and learning more interesting and effective.
Library
A well stacked library with more than 10000 books, a rich reference section and a tastefully laid out reading room is an attraction to the voracious readers of the School of the Good Shepherd. All students are members of the library. Regular library periods provide an exposure to the variety of books available. Students from classes V to XII are encouraged to borrow books as per the library rules. Many useful journals, magazines and newspapers are available in the library. It is encouraging that senior students utilize the reference section effectively.
Lab
Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics labs
The Combined Science Laboratory and Maths lab are well equipped with instruments and materials or demonstration and practical experiments for classes I to X. Teachers will take students to the laboratories whenever necessary.
Computer Science Labs
Two well laid out computer labs with more than 40 computers provide sufficient time for hands on experience to students from Classes I to XII under the supervision of qualified teachers.
Sports & Games
The School has introduced a new curriculum for sports & games for Classes I – V from this academic year onwards – Edusports.
Schools have Physical Education and Sports as part of their prescribed (by the Education Boards) curriculum/ timetable but in most cases, they are not delivering on the promise of physical education/sports as the PE activities in most schools are not inclusive and age-appropriate. This makes the children lose interest. EduSports believes the sustainable, and scalable way to address this issue is through the in-school sports program. Parents are concerned about their children’s health and fitness.EduSports fills the gap in the market by providing a structured Physical Education and Sports programme that
- Fits into the school’s context (wrt limited time and space for a large number of kids)
- Is part of the school time-table & covers all the children
- Helps develop healthy & fit children who grow up to be ‘Champions in Life!’
- Ensures all the children have fun and enjoy the sports/PE experience
- Engages with all the stakeholders (children, parents, teachers, school leaders) as part of the process
